Job Description:

 

The Clorox Company is looking for highly qualified individuals to come work for a multi-billion dollar organization. The position involves contributing both as an individual and as part of a team in delivering consumer products processing projects and will participate on cross-functional business teams interacting with plant management team members, plant team members, vendors, customers, and other functions.

 

ð The Clorox Services Company Packaging Engineering Group currently has an entry level position open for a recent graduate or a soon to graduate (Fall or Spring Semester) engineering student. The Packaging Engineering Group at Clorox is responsible for packaging line design, packaging equipment technology research and selection, and provides assistance to plant teams to resolve complex packaging line issues through troubleshooting and root cause analysis. The Packaging Engineering Group also provides technical guidance for new product initiatives and participates on cross-functional teams for execution of new product initiatives.

 

Position Summary:

 

Working in a participative team based environment, using World Class Operations (WCO) processes and principles, the Engineer provides feasibility studies and project design. Participates in planning and executing small to medium sized projects. Provides thorough and practical solutions to problems requiring general engineering knowledge. Works under direct management or as part of a team using established procedures and/or methods to solve problems. Directly managed and guided by a more experienced Engineer. Learns to develop project deliverables for smaller projects. Contacts are generally intra-organizational and less frequent with outside suppliers.

* Participate in and share information on technical seminars for departmental training in order to stay up to date on current trends, changes, and technological advancements

 

* Develop personal skills and train project teams on new techniques, etc.

 

* Advocate for engineering innovation within functional department

 

Safety and Core Ops Services Objectives

 

* Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Corporate and project site safety performance by supporting the local site's safety programs and initiatives

 

* Deliver project safety performance objectives

 

* Support environmental sustainability goal achievement during project planning and execution

 

* Support cost savings initiatives across the site and help to reduce project spending

 

Technical Leader and Business Ownership

 

* Provides input and insight to project teams on business and engineering needs and proposals

 

* Support and drive Clorox Engineering Standards and regulatory compliance

 

* Manage project assignments in accordance with Project Management Processes to achieve required results, timing, and budgetary targets

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Technical

 

* Engineering Degree (BSME)

 

* Recent college graduate with 0-2 years of engineering experience

 

Business

 

* Good business judgment

 

* Demonstrated ability to achieve quality results and meet deadlines

 

* Solid analytical skills

 

People/Leadership

 

* High level of initiative and ability to drive results with general guidance

 

* Change management discipline

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

Technical

 

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP or equivalent, and utilization of Engineering Standards

 

* Problem Solving, Data collection, and analysis skills

 

* WCO / TPM / Lean Manufacturing processes and techniques

 

* Proven skills to effectively document and communicate technical information

 

Business

 

* Intern experience / background in consumer packaged goods

 

* Excellent presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences

 

* Understands Continuous Improvement Methodology
