Mission statement: Shiloh Place McKinney is a ministry to single mother families in which we equip each mom for financial independence and personal wholeness by addressing their physical, educational, spiritual, and emotional needs.
Position Summary: The Director of Development (DOD) is responsible for developing, sustaining, and deepening relationships with individuals, families, foundations, corporations, churches and the broader community. The objective of all development activities is to help potential supporters understand the ongoing needs of the ministry and, in turn, know how to respond with gifts of resources. The Director of Development will be expected to minister to the needs of the donors and identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these very important ministry partners.
The DOD reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will focus on donor development, public speaking, grants, donor research, events management, social media presence, and database administration. The DOD must be a highly relational professional with a passion for single mothers and their families. It is with the utmost importance that the DOD embraces and fosters a culture of philanthropy and biblical stewardship within Shiloh Place and with donors.
Responsibilities: The Director of Development is responsible for all fundraising activities of the organization and includes the following:
- Keeping individuals, families, foundations, corporations, churches and friends aware of the mission, accomplishments and needs of the organization
- Growing operational funding for the ministry
- Scheduling and conducting donor visits and tours, deliver speeches, and presentations
- Ensuring that all donors receive appropriate & consistent recognition
- Creating an annual Development Plan
- Managing grants calendar, write grants, and ensure all grant requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner. Foster a Culture of Philanthropy throughout Shiloh
Expectations:
- Develop goals, priorities and timelines on a regular basis, ensuring timely and efficient management and completion of all related tasks.
- Communicate and coordinate priorities, progress, workload, and challenges to the CEO on a regular basis.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the CEO.
- Keep up to date on philanthropic trends
- Undertake all activities with the highest ethical standards.
Requirement
- A mature Christian, actively attending a local congregation
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong public speaking ability
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and capable of meeting deadlines
- Ability to follow instructions, think conceptually, set priorities and interface effectively with staff
- Ability to coordinate work requirements and to handle several projects simultaneously
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and interact well with all constituencies
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evening, weekend and holiday as necessary

We minister to single moms and their children who are homeless or at risk for homelessness, providing housing, childcare, and tuition assistance for up to two years.
